While I was born and raised in Toronto, my dad and family are from Halifax, Nova Scotia, so I’ve spent every Christmas and summer vacation in this perfect seaside city. It’s always felt like a second home, an escape from the fast-paced life in the big city. It has always given me a chance to catch my breath and reset. This song is a tribute to the people and places that make my special place in the world so meaningful. But it’s also an attempt to capture the experience we all have landing in the place you love, taking a deep breath and feeling instantly at peace.
