Love Still Lives Inside was the last song written for the EP with my dad. It was born from one of those moments when your brain forgets for a split second that someone you love is no longer someone you know. And yet, they remain there, intuitively part of your thinking, hoping and dreaming. The idea for the song came to me after recently ending a long friendship and finding it so difficult to move past the years when that person was so close to me. It brings up a lot of bittersweet feelings — the memories of magical moments you shared and the reminder that they can only exist in the past.

I grabbed my phone to call and share

When we traded hidden dreams
But the impulse lives on
Buried in some deep subconscious need

A fragment of memory

Like some haunting deja vu
